Poor YSL

So earlier this month, Christian Louboutin decided to sue YSL for stealing his signature red sole. Louboutin is seeking a court injunction against the sale of the YSL shoes (Tribute, Palais and Woodstock ) and damages of at least $1 million. In 1998, the US Patent Office granted Louboutin a trademark for the red soles. However,  it's no help in this Paris-based case...OUCH!!!

Ever wondered how Christian Louboutin came across his creation???

Well the designer got the idea for the red-sole shoes when he painted red nail polish on the black soles of a pair of women’s shoes.

"The shiny red color of the soles has no function other than to identify to the public that they are mine," Louboutin told The New Yorker. "I selected the color because it is engaging, flirtatious, memorable and the color of passion." abc News U.S.
